Family portraits, newborn, maternity, couples, fashion, I’m here for it! I’m committed to putting you at ease during our shoot so you get great images and enjoy our session. I usually like to chat for a while as we make our way to the location and get to know each other. Often by the end of the shoot, I’ve made friends with my clients! And don’t be surprised when i pull out animal sounds and squeaky toys to get the kids to laugh.

WeddingS

I’ve been shooting weddings for 10+ years and it’s such a privilege to document one of the best days of your life. I bring my documentary-style shooting to capture candid moments other photographers might overlook. I’ll make your mother-in-law laugh & loosen up, i’ll probably silent cry during the ceremony, and i cherish the dance-floor fun. Love is love, I relish all types and styles of couples & rituals.

HEADSHOTS & BRANDING

Most people don’t realize how much goes into these seemingly simple images. often times we rely on this singular image to communicate our entire brand! A slight tilt of the head, a lean toward the camera, a slight curve of the lips, or positioning the camera slightly above or below the subject can make all the difference in the world. Whether indoors, at a studio, or at a home, i make sure my clients get the atmosphere that communicates the feeling they need. And in post, I can do as much or as little touch-up necessary to create a glowing, smooth skin texture or white out a background.

CoMMERCIAL & EVENTS

I love shooting for local businesses, especially events. When it requires more than one person to tackle the job, I’m pleased to partner with Artistic Impressions - a Northern California production company that provides full-service event coverage We've worked with clients like Bernie Sanders, Nina Turner, Planned Parenthood, NNU (National Nurses Union) to name a few. I also frequently work with Tahoe Production house to serve small businesses in the south lake area.

VISUAL STORYTELLING

this is my absolute favorite part of my job - Storytelling for individuals or non-profits. for example, i had the unique honor of working as a videographer for jacques Verduin’s program GRIP - or guiding rage into power. Every Wednesday in 2015 I filmed a group of lifers at San Quentin for three hours a day as they underwent a transformative program to confront the roots of their trauma & conditioning that ultimately led to their crime & imprisonment. I will never be the same.

Recently I had the pleasure of working with a professional pianist who has terminal cancer who wanted to leave a document of herself for her kids.

JOURNALISM

& FILMMAKING

I have 15+ years of journalism experience. My first stint was covering the homeless situation for the St. Petersburg Times in russia back in 2007.. Since then, I’ve covered everything from California wildfires to practicing mindfulness in schools.

Filmmaking is my first true love. It’s by far the most impactful & profound form of storytelling. All the visual, audio, and color elements have to come together perfectly to create a great film.
